Resumen

This paper aims to demonstrate that Peter Olivi upholds a genuine theory of subjective value in his De contractibus, a consequence of the fact that commutative justice is based on the voluntariness of exchanges. Ultimately, what defines a just price is the common estimate that occurs within a community. In turn, this estimate is the result of private exchanges in which a price is voluntarily agreed upon. The paper will show how this theory is not only compatible with the idea of the common good, but also uses it as the ultimate criterion.
