Resumen
This article examines the political significance of Hannah Arendt’s thought in relation to contemporary planetary crises. Against exceptionalist and catastrophic interpretations of the present, it argues that Arendt’s categories of «earth» and «world» provide a crucial framework for rethinking the conditions of politics under ecological, social, and geopolitical urgencies. The discussion unfolds in three dimensions: the critique of the Archimedean standpoint and the alienation of the earth; the conception of the world as a shared and plural space; and the possibility of a politics of the ordinary that resists both heroic voluntarism and political paralysis. Reinterpreting Arendt’s work through the lens of planetary concerns, the article demonstrates that her thought remains a decisive resource for envisioning democratic futures beyond catastrophe and exceptionalism.
