Resumen
This article refers to certain aspects of the complex border relationship between Castile and Granada, during the XIII-XV centuries. Specifically, it concerns the problem of captivity and the action of two institutions that will play a fundamental role in the rescue of the captives: the Alfaqueques and "fieles del rastro". Both institutions, each in its own way, are the clearest demonstration of the peculiarity of the border as a communication point and as the creation of new historic realities.
