N2 - Proves that the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of (non-trivial) Lagrangians s(olution)-equivalent to L=1/ 2(x2+y2)-V(x,y,t) is that L can be written as L=1/2(u2+v2)-V1(u)-V 2(v) with u= alpha x+ beta y, v= gamma x+ delta y where alpha , beta , gamma , delta are constants.
