N2 - This proposal aims to account for the experiences of the Interdisciplinary Team of the Research Center in Art, Matter and Culture (IIAC-Suntref), within the framework of the PICT 2017-1716 project “painting and power spaces: local strategies in the production of Images on canvas and wall in the temples of the South Andean colonial (late 16th century XVIII) ”. The main objective of this research is to highlight the iconographic, material and technical elections that would evidence the circulation of knowledge and products in that environment, as well as the ways in which a local production was developed, linked to artists and resources Materials and technological, consistent with ecclesiastical policies in the area. In this work there are some aspects of the visit to the temples that pointed to the realization of an extensive photographic survey of the visual systems of each and the chemical analysis of the materials that make up their wall paintings. For the latter, there was an portable X -ray fluorescence spectroscopy equipment (FRXP) to determine the elementary composition of the materials present. The application of this type of techniques, non -invasive and in situ a way favors the exchange of knowledge between chemistry professionals, art history and conservation in an interdisciplinary context. Thus, it is possible to work in an integral way in the same places to understand the production materials and techniques, the deterioration of objects and plan their conservation, based on active exchange with the people and communities that are responsible for the temples and heritage that They house.
