Resumen
In the international context of university educational activities, the characteristics of the effective teaching service are described, in terms of the teaching-learning process, from the perception of professors, given its relevance for education. The general objective is to identify its attributes in a consensus map using techniques inspired by Zaltman’s Metaphor Elicitation methodology, which highlights the relevance of the non-verbal sphere in information gathering. The findings of this study is a map of teachers’ mental models about the perception of an effective teaching-learning process. The conclusion presents significant elements for the design and development of training programs considering the perception of teachers, which are aimed at promoting student participation as the central destination of effective teaching practices related to flexibility, confidence, willingness and provocation changes in students.
