Resumen
Freudian “art of living” is applied here to study German children’s literature author Janosch. The purpose is mainly focused studying this writer from an analytic perspective in Civilisation and Its Discontents by Sigmund Freud. It is selected a corpus of the German author, where previously is study the concepts of pleasure and displeasure in Freud work. Thus, it is suggested how Janosch works propose a different choice to overcome the discontents against the traditional libidinal economy. The analysis shows how the characters build their own strategies, which allow to speak regarding the “art of living” as an intransitive desire; that jeopardizes traditional logic, a revaluation of the other from solidarity and a radical option for pleasure over culture. The results display a renewed and complex vision of an author of children’s literature. The creation by Janosch questions the values of the contemporary society and appeals to the reader to review its hierarchies.
