Resumen

Based on the discovery of a typewritten text by Amanda Labarca called “Mujer. Condición de la mujer chilena” in the archive of the unfinished Enciclopedia Chilena (1948-1971), and “Feminine Evolution”, published by the same author in 1951 and presenting with the first great similarities, we wonder about Labarca’s conception of writing. Along with placing Labarca’s writing between developmentalism and encyclopedism, we propose through the analysis of three specific operations - crossing out, outlining and repeating- that the author uses encyclopedism from a literary and emancipatory consciousness to subvert the cultural contexts in which the texts are inscribed. Labarca builds a story of progress of women loaded with political affections that denounce injustice, promoting an emancipation where civil political organization is fundamental.
