Resumen

Quality of life in oncology is increasingly gaining importance due to physical, psychological and social impact that the diagnosis of cancer and its treatment. In this research, we studied prospectively the evolution of the parameters of quality of life and emotional symptoms during treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies. We worked with 59 patients admitted to the chemotherapy unit of Hematology Oncology at the Hospital of the Universidad de Chile (HCUCH). They sign an informed consent. We applied the scale of quality of life QLQ-C30 and questionnaire OQ.45, the PHQ 9 screening test for depression and hospital anxiety and depression scale HAD at different stages of treatment. The main results and conclusions show that patients perceive a significant deterioration in the quality of life from the disease and who experience emotional symptoms of anxiety and depression during treatment, however, there would be improvements in their overall perception of quality of life and health status, as well as emotional symptoms at one year.
