Resumen
In A Theory of Justice, Rawls articulates a contractualist theory of justice. The article explores the methodology for justifying the principles of justice that underlie his conception of justice as fairness. This methodology employs two distinct mechanisms: The original position and the reflexive equilibrium. The article contends that the former mechanism is retroactive to the latter, and that both mechanisms express the specific contractualist character of Rawlsian theory, as one that refers to both self-interest and fairness.
