Abstract

Within the framework of the needs that organizations face due to increasingly competitive, unstable and highly uncertain environments, a scientometric and bibliometric review of the concept of Work Environment is carried out between the years 1975 to 2021, considering 4, 241 articles published in the database of Web of Science data, supported by similarity visualization mapping techniques of the VOSviewer software package (version 1.6.15.) developed by Van Eck and Waltman (2020). Identifying the most cited articles, the most influential authors, the journals with the greatest recognition on the subject, the institutions and countries that have had the most productivity and impact. The results showed linear and sustainable growth in recent years of scientific production, showing that there are potential lines of development for this increasingly strategic topic. The main contribution of this research is to identify the stage of development of the construct as a useful tool for the professional community, addressing hermeneutics to establish contributions that contribute to epistemological development to offer an updated discussion on the work environment, providing perspectives for future research.
