Abstract
This short commentary offers three reflections to the Manuel Tironi and Beltrán Undurraga’s article on ’Incitements and Tensions of the Anthropocene: Geologizing the Social’. First, it discusses the idea of the ‘chiaroscuro’ that the authors deploy for a sociological approach on the Anthropocene. Secondly, it criticizes their somewhat weak definition of the very concept of the Anthropocene, which runs the risk of dissolving a great deal of its most promising insights. Finally, it distances itself from their call to of ‘Chilean sociology’ from both a local and a global perspective.
