N2 - Mode-Group Division Multiplexing (MGDM) in Few-Mode Fiber-based Spatial Division Multiplexing (SDM) networks offers a promising solution for current Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) optical networks, where increasing bandwidth demands require more efficient resource allocation. This work analyzes the performance of two proposals about Route, Modulation, Mode-Group, and Wavelength Allocation algorithms based on reach and capacity sorting criteria applied to MGDM-WDM optical networks. Simulations evaluated their blocking performance applied to two network topologies. The results show that the proposals achieve significant reductions in blocking probability, compared to the baseline algorithm based on Mode-Group sorting criteria, with relative reductions of 77% and 9% under low and high offered loads, respectively.
