Abstract
In this paper we expose Ortega y Gasset´s philosophy of history proposal. After showing Ortega´s constant interest and preoccupation towards history, as it is clear in basically all his early and mature writings, we will expose his project of historiología. To do this we will focus on two key concepts: his theory of beliefs and his theory of generations. This study will be carried out in parallel with an analysis of Hegel's critical influence on Ortega, showing the continuities and breaks between the two.
