MICROCOSMOPOLÍTICA COMO CONCEPTO ESPECULATIVO PARA LA CREACIÓN DE NUEVAS IMÁGENES DEL PENSAMIENTO

Abstract

The present study is situated within the contemporary context of the anthropocene/capitalocene epoch, thereby interrogating the role of the humanities within this emergent planetary paradigm. In this vein, a conceptual discussion is proposed based on the work of various thinkers concerned with the contemporary link between human beings and worlds usually considered as non-human. These perspectives offer a framework for critically revisting the epistemic and political foundations underlying the modern notion of thought. The discussion unanchors this notion and proposes it instead as a practice of inflection and material immersion in the world. That is, it is characterized as a performative exercise that is powered by an affective-relational capacity. The concept of Microcosmopolitics is finally coined as a pragmatic-speculative term that functions as a link that would allow for a re-examination of the connections and intertwining between the semiotic and the material, the organic and the inorganic, between the human and the more-than-human. The hypothesis is hereby proposed that this tool could act as a generative link for the creation of new images of thought.
