Abstract

This chapter will focus on providing a summary of the current understanding of carbon -based porous materials and their composites. The chapter mainly focuses on recent research on carbon-based materials applicable in advanced energy applications. The fundamental properties and advantages/disadvantages of these micro/mesoporous carbon-based materials will also be considered in detail. Some possible future research directions will also be discussed.
