Abstract
The Colegio of Propaganda Fide of Saint Ildelfonso of Chillan, was a franciscan missional institution introduced in the southern border of the Kingdom of Chile. Its declared objective was to organize the evangelism of the ethnic groups situated at the south of Bio-bio's river. It installed a mission between the "Indios Pehuenches" communities. The Rucalhue's mission get converted in a scene of meeting and confrontation, where the presence of missionaries originated processes of resistance and identity negotiation.
