Abstract

This essay analyses some poems by the Chilean author Germán Carrasco, in order to explore the consequences of the presence of cinematic visuality in his poetry. The study addresses the aesthetic response in a reading conceived as a multisensorial and bodily experience, as well as the link between language and perceptual reality. The analysis is grounded in the recent theory of multisensoriality in movie studies and in classic authors such as Merleau-Ponty and Lyotard, and it helps understand the evolution of the author’s poetic in his first epoch, since it spans through his books La insidia del sol sobre las cosas, Calas, Clavados.
