Abstract

THE INTERNATIONAL Gas Union (IGU) has a work programme that operates on a triennial cycle and which is co-ordinated by the country holding the IGU presidency. Argenting assumed the role in 2006 and set up a special task force to look at gas market integration in addition to the standing IGU committees covering all aspects of the gas chain. The task force has been working on a series of case studies of regional markets and will report in full during the 24th World Gas Conference in Buenos Aires on 5-9 October, 2009. This is an edited draft of the report on South America's Southern Cone- see footonote.
