Abstract
This work is contextualized in the process of incorporating women into the professional field at the beginning of the 20th century in Chile and, specifically, studies the case of the pedagogue Josefina Dey and her role as a contributor to the Zig-Zag magazine between 1908 and 1909. Analyzing her experience as a poet and her scientific training based on her participation in the most relevant Chilean magazine of the first half of the 20th century, allows us to understand, on the one hand, the close relationship between literature and science in the press of the period and, on the other, the relevance of literary talent as a gateway for women to be able to pronounce themselves publicly on scientific issues.
