Abstract
This paper seeks to develop a critical discussion about the place of fear in relation to forms of subjectification in the context of contemporary global societies. This requires a re-understanding of the phenomena associated with fear, understood as formations related to a classification device whose object and scope derives in the production of politics of subjectivities. From this functionality of fear, we propose that it can be understood as an articulating node of contemporary subjectivity through modes of political organization of violence concentrated around technologies of production, legitimation and identity recognition.
