A transnational history of education in Latin America: a look towards cultural exchanges and appropriations

Abstract

This text introduces the themed issue “A transnational history of education in Latin America”, which includes three contributions that explore cultural exchanges and appropriation processes. A recent interest in the transnational perspective in the history of education in Latin America motivates this issue, providing an opportunity to explore distinct yet complementary approaches. This introduction provides an overview of the articles on Latin American education published in Paedagogica Historica over the last few years and offers some insights into how historians of education in Latin America have been incorporating transnational elements into their recent studies.
