Prof. O’Ryan´s main research line is in the area of environmental economics where he has undertaken diverse research and applied projects in: choice of instruments for environmental regulation, policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Chile, international trade and the environment, computable general equilibrium analysis of environmental policies in Chile, cost benefit evaluation of policies to improve air quality, socioenvironmental conflicts, sustainable development indicators and environmental governance.
