Personal profile

Research Interests

Its object of study encompasses the processes of configuration, iconography, reception, circulation, and narrative surrounding objects linked to Christian practices during the colonial and early republican periods in Chile. In this sense, it is particularly interested in relics and reliquaries as objects related both to human corporeality and to the incarnation of the sacred and expectations regarding miraculous materiality; the spaces and structures that host pious practices and the devotional and political places occupied by regular religious orders settled in American colonial territories, and the wonders and legends elaborated around objects reputed to be miraculous.
