Research Interests

My research deals with musical practices during the colonial period in Spanish America, in particular with indigenous musicians in the Viceroyalty of Peru, from an interdisciplinary approach that combines history and musicology. I am interested in working on their different statuses and roles in the construction of colonial identities, considering the differences around their experiences in urban and mission environments.
