Research Interests

My lines of research focus on the application of environmental biotechnology for the recovery of water resources, biohydrogen production and revaluation of mining wastes, using technologies based on bioelectrochemical systems and fermentation processes. A special focus is placed on studying the changes in the microbial communities in these processes and thus relating them to the operational parameters and yields observed.
