Research Interests

My research focuses on the evaluation and design of resilient networks under geographically correlated failures. Traditional models often assume independent or isolated failures, overlooking dependencies. This project explicitly models failure dependencies—especially those linked to shared geographic exposure—to create more robust and cost-effective network designs. By combining dependent stochastic models such as copulas and Markov chains with stochastic optimization techniques, the approach allows for solving the network design problem under more general conditions, improving reliability without significantly increasing cost.
