Personal profile

Research Interests

*Bioanalytical chemestry. *Synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). *Synyhesis, characterization and derivatization of molecularly imprinted nanoparticles (MIP NPs ("plastic antibodies"). *Main line focuses on the synthesis (production) and derivatization of MIP NPs. These particles have the peculiarity of having a high affinity and selectivity towards a large number of target molecules. The methodology of surface modification of this type of nanomaterials has great applications in the future, in the development of sensors and tests, in different diagnostic, biomedical, biochemical and environmental assays. This type of materials can be an alternative to replace natural receptors such as antibodies.
