Research Interests

Computational neuroscience and machine learning applied to the understanding of healthy and pathological brain states, including states of consciousness, healthy and pathological aging, and pharmacological interventions.  Development of whole-brain models to construct and evaluate mechanistic neurobiological hypothesis concerning the emergence of different brain states. Use of tools from physics and computer science (dynamical systems modeling, statistical physics, machine intelligence) for the data-driven discovery of biomarkers of conscious awareness and neurodegeneration. Also interested in theoretical approaches to foundational issues in cognitive neuroscience and consciousness research.
