Research Interests
Elvira López Taverne’s work centers on the History of Chile and Latin America at the end of the colonial period and during de 19th century. In her research, she has focused on the State-building process analyzing the finances and the creation of a state bureaucracy, in order to observe the transformations and continuities that the breaking of the colonial pact implied.
