Research Interests

My research is developed around coastal archaeology, with an interdisciplinary approach to the study of human-environment interactions through time. My studies have been developed in various parts of Chile and Pacific coasts through archaeo-faunistic, paleoceanographic and technological analysis of mollusk shells from archaeological sites. Lately, I have focused on archaeological shell hooks from the northern coast of Chile, exploring chronological, technological, morphological, traceological and ethnographic aspects of one of the most relevant technologies for coastal groups in Chile and the Pacific.
